Susana Bento
Born in Coimbra, Portugal. Started to dance and sing at early age. With twelve years old began the Royal Academy of Dance course. At age of eighteen attended one year at the University of Coimbra, Anthropology. During that period the contact with Contemporary Dance Classes of Ana Borges created the will to leave Coimbra, in due to study in Lisbon at E.S.D., the Superior School of Dance - University of the Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa. In October 2005 ended the MA course of this University, in Performance Option. In that time attended already the school year of S.E.A.D. - Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. Here had contact again with several/different body techniques and worldwide professionals of dance. In June 2006 created cW or colour Wish, a videodance where body and voice are explored within a strong connection to the space elected for work.
In E.S.D. worked with the choreographers Amélia Bentes, Olga Roriz, Rui Horta, Rui Lopes Graça, Francisco Camacho and Jean Paul Bucchieri. In S.E.A.D. contacted with Andrew Harwood and Judit Keri, Bruno Caverna, Daniela Graça, Ime Essien, Jozef Frucek and Evangelia Kapetanea, Kate Mattingly, Libby Farr, Martin Sonderkamp, Milan and Zuzana Kozanek, Ori Flomin, Susan Rethorst, Tugce Tuna and Zoe Knights.
Simultaneously, developed work as a singer with the Corals of Coimbra, Lisbon and Salzburg, and also as a soloist in formation. Since October 2006 began the singing classes as mezzosopran in Bruckner Universität, Linz (KBA-Studium), with William Mason, and recently, Ulrike Sych.
